Tenerife (Canary Islands (Spain)): During the early hours of 22 June 2026, the Canary Islands Seismic Network (INVOLCAN) detected a renewed increase in seismic activity beneath Tenerife. Over the past 12 hours, more than 200 micro-earthquakes of very low magnitude were recorded, bringing the total number of events since 18 June to over 250 earthquakes. The strongest shocks occurred between 02:50 and 03:25 local time, with the largest reaching a magnitude of M 1.3.
As in previous episodes, the seismicity is concentrated in the southwestern sector of the Las Cañadas caldera at depths of approximately 10 km. This activity forms part of the recurring seismic unrest observed on Tenerife since 2017.

White Island (New Zealand): (24 Jun) Since the previous update on 7 April 2026, no ash emissions have been detected at Whakaari/White Island. Gas emissions have remained low to moderate, with recent gas measurements and mainland webcam observations confirming only moderate steam and gas emissions from the active vent.
Sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions have both declined compared to measurements collected on 23 April 2026.
