The Philippine passport climbed to 72nd place in the latest Henley Passport Index, with visa-free entry to 66 countries.

The country now shares the 72nd spot with Uganda among 199 passports ranked in the index, moving up from 73rd in January.

Philippine passport holders can travel visa-free to 66 destinations, including Fiji, Micronesia, and the Cook Islands in Oceania; Israel and the Palestinian Territory in the Middle East; Barbados and Haiti in the Caribbean; Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore in Asia; Brazil, Costa Rica, and Peru in the Americas; and Morocco in Africa.

Meanwhile, countries offering visas on arrival to Philippine passport holders include Cape Verde Islands, Ethiopia, Iran, Nepal, Mozambique, and Uganda.

Based on the index’s historical data, the Philippines’ latest ranking marks a three-place improvement from its 75th-place position in 2025.

The Singapore passport retained its position as the world’s most powerful for the third consecutive year, offering visa-free access to 192 destinations.

It’s followed by Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates in second place, with access to 188 destinations. Sweden ranked third with 187, while Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Spain shared fourth place with 186. Austria, Greece, Malta, Portugal, and Switzerland rounded out the top five with visa-free access to 185 destinations.

The rankings are based on data from the International Air Transport Association, which is compiled and analyzed by the Henley & Partners research department.

Each passport is assessed based on the number of destinations its holder can access without obtaining a visa in advance. Every destination that allows visa-free entry earns the passport one point toward its overall score.

The Henley Passport Index ranks the world’s passports based on the number of destinations holders can access without a prior visa. Drawing on 20 years of historical data, it covers 199 passports and 227 destinations and is updated monthly. It is a widely recognized benchmark for global passport mobility.
