KSP head reviews MBG program readiness for new academic year

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Presidential Staff Office (KSP) head Dudung Abdurachman reviewed the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and its Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs) in Purwakarta, West Java, on Monday, to ensure smooth operations for the new academic year.

Abdurachman inspected SPPG Ciseureuh 8 and the MBG implementation at Ciseureuh 3 Public Elementary School, coinciding with the first day of the new academic year and the School Environment Orientation Period (MPLS).

“Let’s make this school orientation period a child-friendly experience so that schools become safe, comfortable, and enjoyable places while nurturing a generation that is healthy, intelligent, and has strong character,” he said in a statement here on Monday.

Abdurachman noted that the visit was meant to ensure effective, on-the-ground governance of this national priority program, particularly testing the readiness of SPPG units after the school holidays.

Following the inspection, he congratulated students on the new academic year and urged them to use this momentum to create a strong learning environment.

During his visit to SPPG Ciseureuh 8, he observed the entire operational process, from food production to meal distribution.

He also held discussions with SPPG managers, the school principal, teachers, and students to gather feedback on food quality, menu variety, and the program’s benefits for learning activities.

“Feedback from the beneficiaries is an important part of the evaluation to continuously improve the MBG quality,” he remarked.

According to him, the MBG Program has now entered a governance strengthening phase in accordance with National Nutrition Agency Circular (BGN) Letter No. 12 of 2026.

On the occasion, Abdurachman noted that several school buildings need renovation and expressed hope that the proposed renovations would be realized by the government this year.

He emphasized that integrating various national priority programs in schools is aimed at improving the quality of education while preparing high-quality human resources.
