Gov’t-House synergy safeguards state budget credibility, boosts international trust — minister – OBSERVER

Jakarta, IO – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, speaking at the House plenary session on Tuesday, said that close synergy between the government and the House in overseeing the implementation of the 2025 budget serves as an essential foundation for maintaining fiscal health and the budget’s credibility.

“The government expresses its highest appreciation to all House factions for their views, inputs, and support regarding the second amendment of Budget 2025. All these responses constitute highly useful input for improving future state financial management,” he said.

Furthermore, Purbaya noted that the success of the 2025 Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) in once again securing an unqualified opinion (WTP)—the highest audit rating—from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) was inseparable from the House’s support.

“This achievement is a tangible manifestation of the government’s commitment and consistency in improving the quality of state budget management based on good governance principles,” he explained.

“It is also the result of collaborative efforts between the government and relevant stakeholders, particularly the support from the House in enhancing the quality of accountability in state financial management.”

He further elaborated that the strong collaboration between the executive and legislative branches in safeguarding the state budget’s credibility has also strengthened international confidence in the Indonesian economy.

This trust is reflected in the decision of credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) to maintain Indonesia’s sovereign credit rating at BBB or A2 with a stable outlook.

Purbaya expressed his hopes that the support and cooperation with the parliament can be sustained moving forward, enabling the state budget to serve as an effective instrument in realizing a just, prosperous, and affluent society. (eka)
