Anja Ersing from Germany was crowned the Grand Champion at the Floral Windows to the World Championship (FWWC), a signature competition of the Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) that pits international floral masters against one another in a live competition.
Over three days from 4 to 6 July, 17 world-class competitors, including a Singaporean designer, went head-to-head across six elimination rounds, completing a series of live, on-site tasks at Gardens by the Bay that tested their creativity and technical skills under pressure.

The themes of the first three tasks were “Dream Portal”, “Floral Magic” and “Carousel of Patterns”. The final three tasks were surprise packages, “Where the Rain Rests”, “A Thousand Faces” and “Xtravaganza”, challenging the finalists’ versatility and adaptability.

At the final day of competition held earlier this evening, the top five finalists competed live on stage, crafting their masterpieces at a ticketed dinner gala, as they vied for the Grand Champion title. The awards were given out by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and National Development Dr Syed Harun.
Alison Bradley, Director and Co-Founder of Floral Fundamentals, Head Judge for FWWC, shared, “It’s been a privilege to witness the calibre of work produced throughout this year’s Championship. What makes FWWC so compelling is that it tests far more than an eye for beauty as it demands strong technique, clear ideas, confident decision-making, and the composure to deliver under intense time pressure, all in front of a live audience. The standard this year was exceptionally high, and our expanded judging panel looked closely at both artistry and discipline in every round, from design intent and construction, to how competitors adapted to the brief. Congratulations to Anja for a well-deserved Grand Champion title, and to all the designers for an outstanding showcase of creativity and floral artistry.”

Dennis Lim, Coordinating Director, Festivals, Events and Exhibitions at NParks, said, “Since the inaugural Singapore Garden Festival in 2006, Floral Windows to the World has been a signature highlight, celebrating the artistry and imagination of outstanding floral designers from Singapore and around the world. This year, it was especially exciting to see the Championship unfold live at Gardens by the Bay, with 17 international floral masters going head-to-head across six rounds to create striking works from the ground up, under time pressure and in full view of the crowd. The energy and creativity in this Championship built steadily from the opening task to this morning’s semi-finals, and peaked at the Finals dinner where the top finalists competed on stage for the Grand Champion title. We congratulate Anja on the win, and thank everyone who participated in this year’s Championship.”
