Jakarta, IO – Bogor is known not only as the “Rainy City” but is also famed for its wide variety of cakes, snacks and beverages. Among its best-known specialties are roti unyil, lapis talas, abon gulung, baked macaroni, klappertaart and Bogor-style pickled fruits and vegetables (asinan).
A new addition to the city’s culinary scene is smoked beef sei strudel, a fusion of European and Indonesian flavors.

Strudel, a traditional Austrian pastry, is paired with smoked beef sei, a specialty from East Nusa Tenggara.
Traditionally, strudel is a sweet, flaky pastry filled with thinly sliced apples. At Jumbo Bakery, however, it has been reinvented as a savory pastry filled with smoked beef sei, cheese and cream.
Located at Jl. Raya Pajajaran No. 3F, Baranangsiang, Bogor, next to Baranangsiang Bus Terminal, Jumbo Bakery pioneered the creation of smoked beef sei strudel.
As one of Bogor’s oldest and most comprehensive specialty shops, having operated since 1985, Jumbo Bakery only sold homemade sandwich bread and sweet bread when it first opened. Over the years, it has gradually expanded its selection of baked goods and specialty foods, including its signature smoked beef sei strudel.
Jumbo Bakery’s smoked beef sei strudel is known for its sweet and savory flavor, combining cheese and cream with smoky slices of beef sei. The thick pastry is baked to a golden brown, creating a crisp exterior while remaining soft on the inside.

When cut open, the strudel reveals generous slices of smoked beef sei with melted cheese and cream. It pairs amazingly well with a cup of hot tea or coffee.
In addition to smoked beef sei, the bakery offers strudels with a variety of fillings, including apple, meatball, taro, corn, cheese and banana. It also sells a wide selection of Bogor specialties, including roti unyil, lapis talas, lapis susu, bolen, pia, brownies and Bogor-style asinan. All products are made fresh daily.
