Jakarta, IO – President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday toured the Bhayangkara Exhibition held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian Police (Polri) in Cikeas, Bogor regency. The exhibition showcased a wide array of products, gear, and innovations designed to support police operations—the vast majority of which were domestically produced.
Upon arriving, Prabowo personally reviewed several pavilions where he received detailed briefings on various locally-manufactured products, ranging from uniforms and personal protective equipment to operational gear and advanced law enforcement technologies.
This year’s exhibition, themed “Independence Towards Sovereignty,” highlights Polri’s commitment to prioritizing domestic products and fostering a robust, sustainable, and increasingly self-reliant national security industry ecosystem.
The president first visited a zone showcasing technology for converting internal combustion engine vehicles into electric vehicles (EVs). This conversion technology represents a shift toward more adaptive and sustainable innovations designed to meet Polri’s operational demands.
Following this, he inspected the personal equipment section, which featured fire-resistant suits and anti-slip boots. He also observed specialized body armor, including slash-resistant, arrow-proof, and radiation-shielding suits.
Prabowo was then briefed on several technological innovations and tactical gear, including defensive barriers, command center systems, virtual reality technology, portable Wi-Fi units, and firefighting drones. These innovations were presented as part of ongoing efforts to enhance Polri’s responsiveness to field requirements.
In addition, the exhibition featured heavy-duty operational vehicles and transport support, such as armored tactical vehicles, fast patrol boats, and mobile field kitchens equipped with atmospheric water generator technology.

Through this exhibition, Polri demonstrated its ongoing transformation in procurement—moving away from import dependency toward self-reliance, and shifting its role from being a mere consumer to a driver of the national industrial ecosystem. This strategy aligns with the president’s overarching vision of forging a progressive, self-sufficient, and sovereign Indonesia.
Afterward, Prabowo viewed a presentation and video detailing Polri’s contributions to national economic development through its explicit preference for domestic goods. The police force reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the use of local manufacturing to meet its logistical and equipment needs.
The president’s presence lent significant weight to the commemoration. It highlighted not only the modernization and readiness of Polri’s equipment but also underscored the institution’s role in bolstering domestic industry and safeguarding national sovereignty. (des)
