Tag Heuer has teamed up with golf experts TaylorMade to make a special edition of its Connected Calibre E5 smartwatch, along with a small capsule collection of golf equipment made to complement it.
The Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E5 x TaylorMade Edition is the first major special edition of the smartwatch, but judging by previous lines, it’s unlikely to be the last.
Luxury materials
The Connected Calibre E5 x TaylorMade Edition has a grade two titanium case with, for the first time for the model, a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, giving the watch a stealthy appearance, which fits in with high-end metal golf clubs.
The bezel is numbered one to 18, and it’s used in the smartwatch’s golf app to mark your progress around the course.
There are many neat little touches elsewhere. The DLC titanium continues on to the case back, where you’ll also find the heart rate sensor and a TaylorMade logo, which is also repeated on the crown.
Inside the special presentation box is a choice of straps. The first is a blue leather strap with grey stitching and a white line, and the other is a textile strap with the same color scheme.
The color scheme seen on the straps extends over to a capsule collection of TaylorMade golf products, which include a TaylorMade Spider ZT x TAG Heuer putter, a TaylorMade x TAG Heuer duffle bag, and various pieces of apparel.
Performance golf features
The smartwatch’s software features are also tuned for the keen golfer. Using certain watch faces enables various complications showing relevant data, while tracking a game is easy due to Tag Heuer’s algorithms registering each shot, and your position, without any input from you.
All the data collected then gets collated to provide performance analysis, including a strokes gained metric which compares your game to a baseline.
Tag Heuer has been making golf apps and special edition golf smartwatches since 2019, when the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Edition was first introduced. Its experience tracks back much further, as it launched a quartz timepiece made for golf in 2005. TaylorMade has been making golf equipment since 1979.
What about the smartwatch?
As with previous special edition Tag Heuer smartwatches, the rest of the technology stays the same as the standard models.
This means a 45mm case with a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5100+ processor, GPS, 50 meters of water resistance, sports and sleep tracking, a 90-minute charge time, and Tag Heuer’s own Tag Heuer OS software.
The Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E5 x TaylorMade Edition smartwatch will be available to purchase from June 2026, and it costs $2,550 in the US, and £2,150 in the UK.
